Oddly, I actually liked the first 3 books. They're all free. But I won't be buying the rest of the series. I say oddly because they're very very dark sexually speaking, which is clearly warned about at the beginning so I am not complaining. They are well written, the characters are interesting, even though soometimes they use the same words that should be more of a personality thing (you'll understand when you see them), and it keeps you on the edge of your seat. However, I am extremely turned off by being so mislead by the number of pages. We are lead to believe that these are full length novels, at least after the first one unless I missed something. But they're not, they're short reads, novellas. The first 3 books could have been combined into one. But instead he author has split it up and added a second, what seems to be a full length book at the end of this. I didn't read any of them. While some people may like ghat, I do not. Especially when it is not clearly marked. What is the point of having 10 or so books in a series when each is only 80ish pages long, other than greed or lack of writing skills? Since this author clearly is talented, it seems greedy, even if the first 3 are free. I would rate much much higher if these books were combined into a 3 or 4 book series of full-length novels, rather than 10, or whatever it is, novellas. It just makes no sense. And why not even tell us they're short reads to begin with!? Probably because I wouldn't have ever downloaded it.Product details

Rachel is a round of the mill girl living in Alaska. One night she goes out with her friend and instead of a good time it becomes hell. Her friend who is loose to begin with gets rapped by two guys and Rachel almost met the same end except 2 vampires save her. Unfortunately, she can't escape them because she is a pureblood druid and is consider a breeder. Meaning only druids can have babies with vampires. To kill it all because there is not enough druids to go around one druid can have a minimum of 2 partners and only the author knows the maximum.
So now Rachel gets kidnapped and her friend gets left behind in a police station getting banged by the detective all because the human male species can smell vampire on the girl. What saves Rachel from a similar fate is that Cole the vampire who saved her falls in love with her which they are calling bonding. However, she gets kidnapped again by a rogue vampire because of her being a pureblood druid.
I gave it a 4 star because the characters were well written. The story also kept me interested and Rachel's was made to be a strong woman who does not play dead. However, I couldn't give it a 5 star because I really don't like reading about women being rapped and the ending going off as Rachel being kidnapped again making it that the reader has to buy the sequels to know what happened. A story should have a beginning and an end. Not this bulls@!t of giving a sneak peek to have the reader guessing and buying more and more just to know what happens. I get authors want t o make money but this is ridiculous. One is morally wrong and beside that is just plain greedy. Also, for those wanting to know, beside the beginning where Rachel's friend Michelle gets rapped there really isn't much sex scenes. It's mainly a lot of foreplay with no end.
I picked this one up as a freebie about a year ago and I am trying to work through my short reads. I randomly decided to read this the other night. It was very quick but it had some heavy aspects. There is violence, rape, and kidnapping. There are vamps, druids, rogue vamps, pheromones, all kinds of stuff. I wouldn't read this if you can't deal with the dark elements. It's in the title so please avoid if that's not your cuppa.
The GOOD I like the world that is being built in this short read. You have the dying race of vamps whose females are becoming sterile, you have druid human females and males (I guess) that can mate with the vamps and produce the next generation. With that world in place, it brings the vamps to a level of desperation and animalism just cause well...what else do you do when facing extinction? That's right people. You freak the hell out.
I also liked the semi-menage scene. It was pretty hot.
The BAD It was pretty short so you aren't given a lot to go off of. And you wonder why the heroine, under her circumstances, would be attracted to her captor. Almost like the lesser of two evils - cause there is a big bad vamp and his group that also want her and the hero isn't gentle but is gentler than the other options.
The UGLY I had a laugh out loud-are-you-serious- moment when I read a euphemism for how the author described a body part. It was hilarious in a I'm-laughing-at-you kind of way. Something about breasts looking like creamy flesh ballons. Really? REALLY??!! Okay if that's what you want to imagine... I mean I guess... Flesh balloons are weird. Please don't ever use that again. For the sake of my brain, I'm begging you.
