Brotherton Meyer (8 April 1847 – 28 March 1929), a contemporary and friend of D. L. Moody and A. C. Dixon, was a Baptist pastor and evangelist in England involved in ministry and inner city mission work on both sides of the Atlantic. Author of numerous religious books and articles, many of which remain in print today, he was described in an obituary as The Archbishop of the Free Churches.

This book is far better than any study notes you might have in a margin or any devotional book I've ever read. It reads like a compelling biography with spiritual application throughout.
I'm delighted that I've found this man's work. It was by God's providence that I did. And it shows how God is using this man, a vessel devoted to His use, long after the man walked this fallen earth.

an excellent devotional commentary of John 13-21
F.B. Meyer can be counted upon to give a great devotional commentary here on The Upper Room Discourse. The reader will find his style somewhat archaic & old fashioned.
I am a researcher and have to buy a lot of books. This one was a disappointment. The pags are sketchy and just copied off an original. If I hadn't waited too long for return to be honored, i would have sent it back.
FB Meyer is an excellent writer on the deeper life with God. This book is no exception. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to have a closer relationship with God, and deeper insights into His Word.
FB Meyer has an elaborative writung style and meditatively deep understanding of scripture. His expository teaching powerfully affects the readers awareness of Gods interest in and presence with them. A breathtaking reading experience.
Wonderful explanation of the work of Christ in our lives as we learn how to obey Him. Clear, constructive, with great clarity and knowledge of just how Jesus works in the lives of those who truly obey Him. Not lip service but heart service.
FB Meyer's devotional commentaries on John are rich for pondering the life, death and Resurrection of the Lord Jesus. He focuses much on the human element, teaching us to think long and apply God's Word. Some thoughts may be more helpful than others, but the meditations which are impactful and soul-searching are many.
