His home destroyed in The Pacific War, a troubled young man stumbles into the exotic pearling town of Broome hoping for safe harbor. Instead, Murph Turner discovers 'Australia's Casablanca' - a lawless place brimming with espionage, treachery and romance. An outsider in a bewildering land of red dust and paranoia, Murph is quickly taken under wing by Banjo - a cheeky Aboriginal scamp with a passion for pyrotechnics - and Micki, a beautiful teenager on the run from authorities. But even as the Japanese armada closes in on the northern coastline, the trio are suddenly thrust into a murderous adventure - all set against the backdrop of a true wartime tragedy, so brutal that it was immediately covered up by the Government. The Deep Enders Dave Reardon Books Reviews
Great read
I really enjoyed this book. Looking forward to more titles from Dave Reardon.
Grade A
I am looking forward to the continuation of this story
Amazing book! I wish Dave could write " The Deep Enders 2". It truly feels like you are in the scene.
Fast paced from the get-go, Deep Enders immediately grabs the attention of the reader. Set in Broome, Western Australia pending Japanese attack in 1942 it is clear that Reardon has researched the historical background well. A mix of history with a gripping and exciting storyline is surely a recipe for success. The ending leaves open the possibility for a sequel. Bring it on. A great read. Don't miss this one.
I loved it. I'm 66 and the main characters are teenagers yet it I found it hard to put down. Its full of action and in a historical setting that I had little previous knowledge so was fascinated to discover. The characters develop, the suspense and action increase at a steady pace until it becomes explosive. Easy to read, I hope there are sequels and could become a movie easily. I definitely recommend.
Good book, a good read and an unusual read.
